Biography
Evgeny Konnov was born in 1992 in Chirchiq, Uzbekistan. He studied with Professors Natalia Suslova (Tchaikovsky Music College at the Moscow State Conservatory), Georg Friedrich Schenk (Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf), Evgenia Rubinova (University of Augsburg, Leopold Mozart College of Music), Jan Gottlieb Jiracek von Arnim (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna), Albert Mamriev (Piano Academy Neue Sterne in Hannover), and Christoph Hammer (University of Augsburg, Leopold Mozart College of Music).
He has won First Prize at more than 30 international piano competitions, including the 64th Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona (Spain), the 30th New Orleans International Piano Competition (USA), the 14th Unisa International Piano Competition in Pretoria (South Africa), the 31st Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition in Seregno (Italy), and the 18th Compositores de España International Piano Competition in Madrid (Spain), all of which are members of the World Federation of International Music Competitions. Following his success as a laureate and Public Prize recipient at the George Enescu International Competition, he made his highly acclaimed debut at the George Enescu International Festival in 2025.
After winning the 60th Augsburg City Art Award, he was Artist in Residence at Staatstheater Augsburg during the 2020/2021 season. His debut album, released by Naxos in 2022 and featuring piano sonatas by the Catalan composer Antonio Soler, was highly praised by the international press. In 2023, he recorded Liszt’s Études d’exécution transcendante for Solfa Recordings, which also received outstanding reviews. In 2026, he released a new album on the Halidon/Sonus label featuring piano sonatas by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Ludwig van Beethoven, which received highly positive reviews.
Evgeny Konnov has performed at many of the world’s leading concert halls and cultural venues, including the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall in Bilbao, Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada, Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona, L’Auditori in Barcelona, Auditorio de Tenerife, Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg, The Playhouse in Durban, Gasteig in Munich, the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, Casa da Música in Porto, Salle Cortot in Paris, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, Casa di Riposo per Musicisti in Milan, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Flagey in Brussels, Act City Hamamatsu in Japan, as well as venues in the USA, the Netherlands, Poland, Malta, Uzbekistan, and Morocco.

Since 2024, Evgeny Konnov has been teaching piano at the University of Augsburg, Leopold Mozart College of Music, and has given masterclasses in the USA, Spain, Germany, and South Africa. He also serves as a jury member at international competitions, including the Alexander Scriabin International Piano Competition in Grosseto, Jugend Musiziert, and the International Piano Competition Spanish Composers in Las Rozas de Madrid. He is also President of the Jury of Clavis Bavaria.
